Is this all about something new Kerry said, or is it something being brought up after the fact by the SwiftVets?

The Swift Vets brought it to a head in their new book. Chapter three is online and discusses it, along with his phony first Purple heart. Read it here. freerepublic.com

Kerry is on record over 50 times discussing his "Christmas in Cambodia." It came up first as he was there while Nixon was denying it. Then it morphed by '86 to his trip there was "seared, seared" in his memory. This is in the Congressional record.

Brinkly's bio of him steers away from that and says he was in Dek To, 58 miles away, at Christmas. So he must have realized there was no basis for it.

Now that the book is out, Kerry wouldn't meet with the press on his plane all last week. The finally came out with a limited hangout that he was in Cambodia several times.

Of course, it is now realized that this is all a lie. But he is still getting away with it, with the Kerryfolk saying, "so what, no big deal."

It is the first crack in his Vietnam story that they have had to partially admit. They think they can stonewall and the media will let them go. They may be right.

You missed the most exciting week of the campaign last week. Fun, fun, fun.
