MELVILLE, N.Y., June 11, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (NasdaqGS:CMTL - News) announced today that its Tempe, Arizona-based subsidiary, Comtech EF Data Corp., received a $1.0 M order for satellite communications equipment from the U.S. government. The equipment will be used to support the government's satellite communications infrastructure.
Included in the order are Comtech EF Data's bandwidth-efficient CDM-600/L and CDM-710 Satellite Modems. The CDM-600/L are open network modems, fully compliant with IESS-308, -309, -310, -314, and -315 from 64 kbps through T2 and E2. The CDM-710 Satellite Modems operate in Digital Video Broadcast and generic data transmission applications over satellite links, providing programmable symbol / data rates up to 45 Msps.
