Vartan, I recently ordered a book from the Globe & Mail called the Can.
Co. Handbook. An informative book for a novice like myself. A company
called C-Mac Ind. is in it.They manufacture micro-electronic products
and components. In the second paragraph of the synopsis it states " In
July 1994, C-Mac called off the merger with Memotec. C-Mac has owned a
controlling 51.2% stake in Memotec sinxe Dec. 1993."It goes on to say
why the merger failed but ends saying " The company decided to keep the
shares they already owned." Would you know if C-Mac still owns that
51.2% ? They have a p/e of 13.0 and a book value of 4.05 as of Dec. 94.
They closed at 4.15 on Friday, up 0.25 for the week. If they still own
the Memotec shouldn't C-Macs value also increase?

Joe
