What's stupid is describing the process of drilling as "destroying the environment", while talking about a few months supply of oil* as if it was anything else than a massive and very valuable resource. Don't you think we need a strategic supply? If its forever off limits to drilling it isn't a strategic supply. * Actually far less then our total demand for oil spread out over a much longer time than a few months, but if you imagine it sitting in some big tank that all our oil use comes form then yes it might be a few months, OTOH it could be several years.
