I think the most practical way for dealing with the Y2K issue is to examine one's own systems as best as possible given the time constraints and dollar limitations. But the really cautious should consider developing a plan for dealing with their normal transactions and processes in manual (read paper based) system. it appears that the more complex systems have gotten, the easier it is for problems to spring up in the system

I'd know how to take and fulfill orders, track receivables, and a multitude of other tasks with pen and paper, if I was not 100% sure about the my systems Y2K compliance.
