Achilles, From what we know of the impeachment process put forth by the Founding Fathers, it appears that they wanted to set a high bar to pass. This is why they require a 2/3 majority of Senators to blow away a president. Some nations just require a 50% vote of no confidence to knock out a President. This nation (thank God!) is more of a Republic, which means that leaders have lots of power at their disposal. Sleeping on the job, as you might have pointed out, probably would not get someone removed from office. Lying under oath before a Grand Jury, witness tampering, lying in a civil deposition, and obstruction of justice could very well be enough of a set of crimes to make Bill Clinton the first President to be removed from office in history. -John
