Or any family member for that matter? I've had experience with this with a family member and the frustration created by the focus on the rights of the mentally ill is great. In our experience, the only way to get help once the spiral is out of control is hospitalization and forced medication. You don't get to that point in the state in question (in the midwest) unless and until behavior is completely off the charts.
