You may well be right. Though it is hard to imagine they have a candidate lined up this quickly, common sense would dictate that once they do and before they are ready to announce that Ben R. would make all of the necessary headcount changes and let the new CEO come in with a clean slate. The new person would not be saddled with the black cloud and Ben can then ride off to NY and be the scapegoat.
