What's new in the Sudan is that the pipeline is actually completed and pumping oil a little ahead of schedule. The mere prospect was enough to cause that huge speculative run-up in Arakis--as you know, I am sure. By the way, I have now discovered what no doubt everyone but me knew, that you can't trade the index IIX itself--only options on it.
