Bearded One, you can short the SPY without an uptick.

I beleive you may also be able to short any of the similar special vehicles, such as the various country baskets.

If it weren't that the market is now closed early for the down, with the Down down 550 points, I was about to suggest shorting Asian closd end funds and country baskets. I suspect the Asian markets will now be down big tonorrow, as they see the the U.S. has taken their decline seriously.
