Phasing out K6-III avoids having too many overlapping products on the market at once, gives a good split between high-end/low-end choices and sends a strong message to those people currently paying big bucks for P-III."

AMD invested 20 months of a design team's effort, countless millions of dollars, and they all go down the drain and you praise AMD for the brilliant strategy and execution !
