Most others don't see Kerry's bragging as a personality flaw because they haven't yet heard about it. That stuff about running guns into Cambodia never got very much attention before, it was in the fine print and how was anyone to know it wasn't true? He wasn't cross-questioned on it, and the eye-witnesses weren't putting their notes together to point out the false parts of the story.
