Probably justifiably cynical but still think the main issue was a fast run up in NAV on the move to gold safety, followed by the sell off on announcement. Very likely some correctly anticipated the issue, or cynically, simply knew the issue was coming, while others probably had metrics triggered with the outsized NAV and took profits. Hard to imagine cef.a holding a 22% premium for any length of time.
