Interesting approach Matthew. So, you would be doing just about what an index fund manager does without the overhead. In fact, if you made various purchases you could average down the overall value of the holdings. Very slick indeed! How long have you been buying SPYs?

Is there a way to short SPYs? You know, you could use the Investor's Business Daily's Mutual Fund Index as your cue to switch in/out of the SPYs when the moving average moves above/below the 50-day moving average. That is an easy way to be out of the market extremes. In fact, the IBD Mutual Fund Index does just about what the Dick Fabian 's Mutual Fund Telephone Switch newsletter does. I use to subscribe to it until I discovered the IBD index chart. The kid took over the company and raised the prices.
