I have always had strong POV's about my politics & have
supported or been against certain politicians over the
years. However, I have never contributed to any politician
or political party. Among the many legitimate reasons is
that it feels like enabling a drunk by giving them cash in
return for a promise they will get a meal & shelter. You
just know you can't trust most of them to do the right
thing. There are so many other ways to assist in getting
the word out without making cash donations IMO.

To me, these 527 groups are surrogates for the politicians
& political parties too.

However, after closely watching this Swift Boat Veterans
for Truth issue(s) develop, I am fairly confident that
they are mostly honest in what they claim they stand for &
why they are doing what they are doing. They have provided
documentary & first hand testimonial evidence, replete
with sworn affidavits to support their many allegations.
They have put their names & reputation on the line, plus
they have made it easy for Team Kerry to sue them
personally in how they incorporated the Swift Vets group.

Team Kerry refuses to respond to them directly & address
the many serious allegations about him. Instead, Team
Kerry has attempted to deny them their freedom of speech.
The mainstream media has mostly ignored the Swift Boat
Vets or they have maligned them with lame & misleading
op/ed crap.

I decided I will make a one time exception. Today, I made
a donation to the Swift Boat Vets. It ain't much, but to
me it's more about taking a stand & help try to level the
playing field.
