<How long have you been buying SPYs? >

Not too long. I basically got fed up of my stocks and options positions getting smashed in the last 3 months. I heard about SPYs back in April/May timeframe. I am currently rebuilding my account and changing my focus from wealth accumulation to wealth preservation. Basically, sell puts and covered calls on stocks I wouldn't mind having over the long term. I now realize that I just don't have the short-term trading psychology, and am restructuring my investment strategy to take this into account.

<Is there a way to short SPYs?>

You might want to ask your broker.
