His fellow postdocs perhaps do not treat him well, perhaps his supervisor does not pay much attention to him, so he's got the idea that they and the rest of humanity are all sooooo stupid, he alone is smart. He understands everything, but stupid people [that includes nearly everybody] just can't understand how superior and brilliant he is. Do not appreciate him enough. Make fun of him. Make him do repetitive tasks, lift heavy objects, send him to get drinks, etc. But, if only people were not sooooo stupid, they'd appreciate his sheer overpowering intellect. You know ... joe
