Wars cost money

By donsurber on War

This just in: Wars cost money. The Congressional Budget Office (controlled by Democrats) said the Surge will cost another $40 billion.

The Global War on Terrorism already has cost us $602 billion in a little under 6 years — or about one-third of what we spend every year on social service programs.

Why that $40 billion for the Surge is enough to pay for all the nation’s pork barrel projects and farm subsidies.

That $40 billion for the Surge would be enough to rebuild the World Trade Center three or four times, enough to keep terrorists busy for the next 20 years as we build, they destroy, we mourn and we rebuild again, even higher. I wonder how much.

That $602 billion for the total war would be enough to build a $2,000 bunker for every American — which we would need as waves of terrorists would strike our shores over and over again.

Wars cost money. Not fighting back costs more.
