I read the part of the Fortune article again that applies to Jini. A couple of sentences in particular address the stuff we've posted today.

"Say you carry a Jini-enabled PDA when you go to the airport. As you enter the terminal, it might alert wireless systems there that you've arrived, confirm your seat assignment, and recieve and display your gate and departure information. Automatically."

The point is that Jini tells the computers in the airport that your hand-held device has arrived and is ready to receive information. Depending on how fortunate we are with our investment in Citrix, that information might be pushed from a server using ICA or some future variation of it. If anything, Jini will help grow Citrix's market, not compete with it.
