MM -

There are just too many things in that post that I disagree with for me to even know where to start. If I pick out each individual statement and rebut it, as you did, this will just get very tedious very fast.

I'll just pick out a few highlights.

You bring up the idea that doing nothing is giving Iran tacit permission to take over the world. I don't believe anyone is suggesting doing nothing about Iran, so it's not a relevant point. It's reminiscent of the strawman arguments employed by the Bush Administration in trying to justify the invasion of Iraq. Anyone who was opposed to the invasion was painted as advocating no action at all. But once again, even if we gave Iran permission to conquer the globe, they still wouldn't be able to do it. There are a few other countries that would probably have something to say about it.

I don't see anyone acquiescing to terrorists, either, by the way. Where do you get that?

When you say that Al Qaeda doesn't need armies or WMDs to take over the world because they have suicide bombers, you really aren't making sense. There is just no way to gain control of the world by killing a few to a few dozen people randomly here and there.

Saddam waged a war against Iran, and invaded Kuwait, claiming it as a disputed territory that really belonged to Iraq. How you can interpret that as making overt steps to take over the world I just can't imagine. He had neither the resources nor the ability to be much more than a nuisance.
