Are you saying that the US attack on Iraq provided them with the needed courage to go after their own terrorists? Or is it that the attack was a warning that they need to go after their own terrorists or else the US would do that job for them.

Both.

The world is not black and white, and neither is the Saudi involvement with militant Islamists.. Some royals, IMO, have formed links with the militants as a means of destabilizing the kingdom and increasing their own influence in the royal family.

Remember, only one can be King of Saudi Arabia. And it wouldn't be the first time we saw internal intrigues amongst royal heirs to a throne.

Which is why some members of the Saudi royal family have met interesting demises and political reshufflings since 9/11.
