I completely agree with the above.

One thing though, Wilamette is not a low hurdle.

So far, PII core was the king and K7 was the contender. Once AMD cleans up the K7 platform issues (aka bugs), K7 is the king and Wilamette is the contender. The day may not be far when people say "If Intel" or "If Wilamette".
