WASHINGTON, Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Comverse Technology Inc. (Nasdaq: CMVT), of Woodbury, New York, will become a component of the Nasdaq- 100 Index(R), effective at the beginning of trading Wednesday, January 13, 1999. Comverse Technology will replace HBO & Company (Nasdaq: HBOC), which is being acquired by McKesson Corp.
Comverse Technology Inc., with a market capitalization of $3.5 billion, designs, manufactures, markets and supports computer and telecommunications systems and software for multimedia communications and information processing applications by fixed and wireless telephone network operators, government agencies, call centers, financial institutions and other organizations.
