Best part of that map is this.

When we look back on that period of time it will be discovered to be at least a few degrees TOO WARM.

Not to say we won't have a bit of a thaw toward the end of the month. But that bit of warming will just be bait to bring the howling icy winds from the north again, like a wolf crossing the US/Canadian border.

As I said a week or so ago, the extended thaw we had in the East after Christmas lasted long enough to make a cold February more likely, at least according to my system, my indicators and outlook.
