Investors are those who buy and hold for a significant period of time
(not a matter of minutes). Also the trader wannabe's are small in number
so as to be insignificant. Jumping in and out reminds me of the mutual
fund industry. While all of them try to pit their "intelligence"
the majority of them fail to outperform the averages (The zero-sum game). So unless
you are privy to insider information, or have some way of getting in and
out before the rest of the world does, it is almost impossible over an
extended period of time to outperform some simple strategies (a.k.a
Peter Lynch, Warren Buffet, Burton Malkiel and even Soros in some
instances.).
But then again, there are traders who get only their living
from it. I personally have nothing against trading.
