Sorry for the late response, been busy!

You said "seems to be no fear selling puts". I have observed from a distance that this tends to be bullish activity, often near bottoms. The public doesn't sell puts today after getting killed in '87 when it was "a surefire way to make big bucks". That leaves the smart money. Who would be taking the other side, the MM? Can they cover their risk with cheaper matching calls, and take home the spread? What do you think?
