Nadine, the Jews have to put the holocaust behind them and start living like ordinary citizens of the world. The world today is much different then it was in the late 1930's.
Oh yeah? This time the governments promising to obliterate the Jews are in the Arab world, is that the difference you're talking about?
The Israelis would love nothing better than to put the holocaust behind them and become a normal country in Shimon Peres' New Middle East, I do assure you. Unfortunately, the Arabs have refused to cooperate with the program. When important Iranian officials talk about the importance of the Muslim bomb and how they're gonna drop it on Tel Aviv and they are building a nuclear program, it's the potential holocaust ahead that the Jews have to worry about.
Unless you understand that the conflict has proved intractable despite the best efforts of the UN to broker a solution because the Arab countries & Iran and their European backers do not desire any solution that leaves Israel standing, and are paying Hizbullah, Hamas, Fatah et al towards that end, you do not understand the nature of the conflict.
Nadine, I have thought about Joe Lieberman and wondered why he is not the front runner if the Jews were all that powerful. Maybe you have some thoughts on that.
I do. Why don't you try this explanation on for size - the Jews are not all that powerful.
It's by far the simplest explanation, after all.
I mean, think about it for two seconds, wouldja please? If we were all that powerful, wouldn't we get ourselves a better press? |
