mile, just read mike's reply. it was similar to mine. i will respond to your reply to mike since it is about the same as my prior post.
>.Costs will come down, this is the very same pooping on SDRAM switch from EDO in '96- doesn't really work, too expensive, yada, yada, yada.<<
mh, in the dram biz, costs only drop one way. MASSIVE RAMPS IN OUTPUT. you can't have those massive ramps in output if you are supplying playstation alone. you need biz and consumer pcs. without them, you WILL NOT get the cost drops and you WILL LOSE MONEY.
was sdram different? is it in biz and consumer boxes? did your light bulb go off?
>>I know, INTC gave them $500B, but they could of dragged their feet, but instead MU appears to have sped up RDRAM development....hum...<<
imho, this is biased and reckless speculation on your part. did you know an asian company had samples of gb dram LAST YEAR? YAWN! sampling is nothing. if mu is supporting rdram so much to speed up development, why is applesauce fighting rmbs execs at insider parties? ;-) oh, and how did you get ahold of intel's timetable for mu to produce rmbs in order to make the statement that mu is ahead of schedule? we all would REALLY appreciate knowing the rest of the time table ;-)
you didn't answer whether sony will use rdram in their biz or consumer pcs. why? |
