This latest fashion for "fake news" is amusing. For decades I have been aware of just how fake the news is. At best, news has always been just a guideline in the nature of where there's smoke there's fire - or perhaps just a smokescreen to distract from the real news. It's obviously not new given that Mark Twain quote about uninformed vs misinformed.

My all-time favourite was Time's front page main story expose of male child prostitution in Russia which was obviously them being scammed and they admitted a month or three later that they had been scammed. Laughable. It was amazing that they could publish such an obvious joke.

It's the same credulous misquoting we saw of Trump during the campaign when media would misconstrue what he actually said. Time after time after time after time they did it. They seemed to actually believe what they were saying which suggests they are actually just really stupid rather than simply dishonest scum.

Maybe they are both stupid and dishonest scum.
