A late response to your inquiry about being caught in previous "squeezes".

i can's sy that I have been particularly clever or fortunate when this has occured previously. I was always surprised how a seemingly small company, with a limited amount of stock, a good idea or product, could be ignored by the mainstream press for months to suddenly see articles appear or editorials popup in/on CNBC, WSJ and Barrons over a fairly compressed period of time, the news was always negative and usually only told part of a story. Usually I hold and wait for thingsa to calm down, with fundamentally good companies their is almost always a bounce or recovery, although often not to the earlier highs. What I have eperienced with the biotechs that I have followed is that this is often cyclical and a trading range spanning 1 to 2 quarters can usually be identified. If you have the discipline (or the "stomach") you can sell near the highs and buy back in later within 1 or 2 points of the earlier lows. Because I am not a very active trader I tend to stay on the sidelines, but with a couple of these stocks I will be taking profits and probably reenter when I see the next cycle forming.
