Brunn, Gottfried, and Tito, I know it is hard to believe, but the oldtimers on this site, Gottfried, Tito, Lester E, Cary and other have seen AMAT run from $21.5 for the 1996-'97 up cycle and the 1998-99 upcycle based on presplit price to a high of $108 and $230 during the latest up cycles.

Lester E.'s, a 80 year old retired judge statement reflects this stock. "All I know is the stock runs up and it runs down, and the number of my stock and profits doubles every two years.

A personal experience, I can relate to is what my own holdings would have been. If I had held onto my AMAT when I personally purchased it, I would now have 72,000 shares of AMAT. But, I sold it rather that do what Lester E. suggested.

Gottfried, and Ttio can confirm Lester E.s statement..

Naturally, the past is no indication of the past, but the way the institutionals have held the stock up this cycle around $39-40 when it should have gone at least to $21 or lower is an indication of its strength.

Just my opinions.

Paul
