Do you think Child Services or CPS or whatever its called is really some great thing?

When its working, its a good thing for children. Too many parent treat their children like chattel. I've heard too many stories of kids getting locked up in cages and abused. Those are the extreme examples but there are many others that are nearly as bad without requiring cages.

Unfortunately, CPS is the first agency to get cut back when there are revenue shortfalls. I think that's one of the reasons why Jaycee Dugard never got found. CA was cutting its agencies all through the 90s and CPS was understaffed. Same in FLA.
