Pareteum and AirFox Partner to Help Mobile Operators Make Data Access More Affordable PR NewswireFebruary 28, 2017
BARCELONA, Spain and NEW YORK, Feb. 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Pareteum Corporation (NYSE MKT: TEUM) ("Pareteum" or the "Company"), a leading international provider of mobile networking software and services to the Mobile Network and Internet of Things markets, and AirFox, a mobile platform provider that enables mobile operators to become agile digital service providers by increasing access to and maximizing the value of mobile data, announced today that they are entering a partnership designed to address the industry's need to increase revenues and consumer demands for access to mobile data services through applications on their smartphones.
Under terms of the partnership, AirFox's Mobility Platform will be deeply integrated and embedded into Pareteum's Global Mobility Cloud Platform. Service revenues, based on subscribers opting into advertising and sponsored brand content on their smartphones, will be collected by Airfox and paid to Pareteum. Pareteum will pay participating mobile operators their agreed share of the revenues. The mobile operators can use the new revenue streams to be more competitive or to create brand loyalty programs, rewards, and data plan subsidies. Operators can optimize subscriber yields and maximize subscriber data revenues by dynamically pricing the use of selected applications and by launching zero-rated (toll free) services.
AirFox was founded by Google veterans Victor Santos and Sara Choi who served as Media Lead for Google's YouTube subsidiary. The AirFox Mobility Platform gives mobile operators more data control and enables them to offer subscribers a better experience and greater data affordability. AirFox has partnered with brands and leading advertising providers including Facebook, Google, and Twitter. It has a streamlined interface where a mobile operator's non-technical employees can easily configure varied combinations of applications and customized data plans that are automatically synchronized with their subscribers' mobile devices.
"Helping our customers grow their businesses through the cost-effective deployment of new mobile services is Pareteum's primary mission. Together with Airfox, we are expanding the value we can deliver to operators by enabling them to tap into the vast opportunity of consumer mobile data services including social media and streaming, giving them the flexibility to customize their service offerings while generating new revenue streams," said Vic Bozzo, Chief Executive Officer of Pareteum.
"AirFox helps mobile operators to better serve and more fully monetize their subscribers. Our integration into Pareteum's innovative and flexible services platform will allow MNOs and MVNOs to quickly build and deliver new service offerings, providing them with a combination of capabilities not currently offered in the marketplace. These capabilities address significant competitive challenges operators face, in particular, pressure on subscriber revenue, churn, and the expense and lack of flexibility in offering attractive new application plans," said Dan Powdermaker, Executive Vice President of AirFox. |
