Looks like the reporter who thought that TWE had a stake in Island ECN wasn't totally wrong...

Wall Street brokerage firms of all stripes have been scrambling to link up with ECNs as they try to figure out where stock trading will take place in the next several years. E*Trade Group Inc., Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and J.P. Morgan & Co., for example, have taken stakes in Archipelago Holdings LLC. And Waterhouse Securities Inc., a unit of TD Waterhouse Group Inc., has announced it will take a stake in Island ECN. Two other ECNs, Strike Technologies LLC and Brass Utility LLC (or Brut), have a variety of Wall Street investors, though analysts say it is still unclear how profitable ECNs will be.
