Hi Darrell,

I have heard rumors of a proposed capability to provide streamlined internet access with a hybrid browser. Java has been hyped so much lately, I think it automatically lends credibility to the most outrageous things. BWDIK, It may be workable. You don't need a full O/S to be on the I.

As to productivity, I thought assembler was great and I could do some fancy stuff. Then I came into COBOL, It was super... generated a lot of assembler code with just one statement. Then RPGII, I could do a complete functioning program with a lot less code than COBOL. Now it seems that we have come almost complete circle again giving the programmer low level control again. I believe I would challenge that a Java programmer is more productive than C++ or other similar languages. JMO.
