3D Imaging Announces RCS Acquisition
AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- 3D Imaging and Development, Inc. (3D Imaging), formally the scanning services division of Scientific Measurement Systems, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: SCMS - news), announced today that it has acquired River City Solutions, Inc. (RCS).

RCS has been the exclusive provider of reverse engineering services and first article inspection to 3D Imaging. ``By bringing in RCS, we now have a full complement of services to offer our customers -- it's a natural fit,'' said Joe Llamas, president of 3D Imaging. RCS utilizes the software necessary to convert or manipulate the scanned product data produced by 3D Imaging.

With this acquisition, 3D Imaging will relocate its office to 12301 N. Lamar, Bldg C, Ste. C, Austin, TX, 78753. The move will enable 3D Imaging to accommodate expanding business needs. ``This relocation will allow 3D Imaging to be more prepared for growth and product diversification. In addition, our new offices will aid us in creating an identity in the scanning community,'' said Joe Llamas, president of 3D Imaging.

3D Imaging is a privately held company and is a subsidiary of Eakin & Company, an investment-banking group based in Baton Rouge, LA. 3D Imaging is a leader in industrial scanning, specifically computed tomography (CT), which is becoming widely used in the auto, aircraft, and casting industries. 3D Imaging is currently the only company in the US operating a CT service bureau.
