Bill I have had simalar problems with conference. The big thing is that both parties have to have full duplex modems for it to work right, otherwise it it like a walkie talkie.....not too impressive. I have not had very good luck with it. I did install ICQ mirabilis.com and that is a great real time chat and messaging program that support several voice over net programs but I use it mostly for the chat sessions or the real time messaging.....it is quite addictive and is free. I have whole family on ICQ now and we can do a multiple user chat room and send files by drag and drop and send url's as well. I can not say enough great things about this. Hope this is of some use.
