Streep's diatribe also diverted attention away from the reason they were there. Casey Affleck won the bast actor award for Manchester By The Sea, haven't heard anything about that. This movie deserves wider attention. I don't usually go to movies, but I'm dating someone who likes movies, so I went along. I was surprised by how much I liked it. Well written and well acted, it portrays working stiffs in a sympathetic, even heroic, light. I was also struck by the fact it was distributed by Amazon Studios. Times are changin.
