I do indeed have too many bookmarks. But even if I delete some of the really unnecessary ones there would still be too much of them left to allow really fast downloading of the bookmark page.

I have figured out a simple solution to the separate management page that requires almost no programming.https://www.siliconinvestor.com/readmsg.aspx?msgid=3516511 And once the new simple and fast bookmark page is implemented I would not complain if the current page would be loaded up with more features. We would just need a new option that determines if the return to bookmarks link should go to the simple or the management version of the bookmark page.
