I've stopped chosing which lots of an MLP I'm selling, and just use FIFO,

I forgot how much you trade. I assume most people just buy a full position, and when they decide to sell sell the full position. I agree it sounds incredibly painful buying 20 5% chunks and later selling off 25 4% chunks of a position.

If I ever sell an MLP I definitely just sell the whole thing.
