Russia - China border clash ? Russian frogs saved from Chinese poachers Three citizens of China, who trespassed the Russian-Chinese border, have been detained in the Maritime Territory. As a spokesman for the press service of the FSB Frontier Department for the Maritime Territory said on Monday, the Chinese penetrated Russia for catching tree-frogs, which are a delicacy in their national cuisine. The two Chinese were detained by huntsmen from the Barsovy state preserve. The Chinese had frog-nets on them and 65 tree-frogs. The third trespasser was detained by frontier guards. He tried to escape but was caught by a sleuth hound. The trespasser had on him two wicker baskets, a frog-net and about three kilograms of frog spawn placed in two cellophane packets. According to the detained, he was with another fellow, but the latter had managed to return to China. The frontier guards informed their Chinese colleagues about the facts of the illegal crossing the border so they take appropriate measures for seeking the disappeared trespasser and bringing him to account. All the trespassers were brought to the temporary detention center of the frontier detachment. Investigation started on Monday.
