Capitalism is based fundamentally on gambling- the risking of one's assets or time in the hopes of bringing profits in the future.

Some people invest by buying an old house and spending a year improving/fixing it in order to sell it,

some study industries and companies and try to see which ones they can invest in, in order to share their profits later,

some look for rich husbands or wives in college,

some people buy a lottery ticket on the way home each day and blow the rest on booze and McFastFood.

And some simply stand around a Charles Schwab office shouting "This good JDSU forty-dollah! Oh, stock is mean now, lost fifty-dollah."

All of these are forms of "investment." I choose to value some methods more highly than others. :)

for lack a better word "wiser" than they. and therefore, they trade in utter bliss and will, if it happens, lose their money without knowing why.
