Comdisco (1/31/2001) Conference Call Notes:

Here is a link to listen to the conference call:

vcall.com

The company is taking immediate and prudent steps to improve the fundamentals of the business.

The company's venture tracking stock has been withdrawn and will not be issued. The company is exploring other alternatives to monetize the venture holdings.

There are three core business segments that the company will focus upon:

1) leasing
2) services
3) ventures

The company paid down 1/3 of the short-term debt due for 2001. The company is very focused and driven to improve the financial liquidity of Comdisco. The company wants to improve the business by the following actions: 1) improve the financial position and solvency of the firm by focusing upon appropriate business lines and paying down debt, 2) focusing strongly on having competent management in place -- to ensure a credible relationship is maintained between the firm and Wall Street, and 3) discontinue stagnant business lines and emphasize strong business segments.

$275 - $280 million is the current value of the venture portfolio.

This conference call puts the company back on a conservative track. This is incredible news for stockholders! Management is focused upon providing shareholders a conservative financial backing and creating shareholder value.

It's very apparent that Nick just about ran the company into the ground. A rich kid who thought he had all the answers. He didn't. Now those in the know have to correct his mistakes.
