zonder, I have great empathy for those who have lost children and other loved ones. We aren't talking about parents here. We are talking about a couple of your "ignorant" friends who cannot understand how war can result in loss from friendly fire. The amazing thing is that it is no more than it is... Don't talk to me about empathy. I have served time in the foxhole. I have lost some of my closest friends....a number of my classmates to include a West Point roommate....and some family. My father still wears the scars and the related pain from 4 purple hearts in two wars. My grandfather suffered damage from nerve gas in WWI... War is ugly. But when the price to not wage the war is too high then you just do what you have to and you don't let the "eggspurts" call the shots. Your British "friends'" comments are ignorant. People die and it isn't always somebody's fault.
