the loudest and the shrillest get quoted. That's the most fun for both the editors and the bashers on the other side who want an extremist straw man to play against. Another staple in our modern American circus. Jump on a ridiculous anecdote and whoop it up good; much more emotionally satisfying than those tedious balanced arguments.
