I agree/disagree with Charles about the PC going away. I think everyone will have A BOX in their house similar to what the current PC is but it will be a household SERVER and will contain all the data, connections etc. for the home. But there will be a ton of clients that will connect to it for storage, Internet connection, etc. You will have two or three "dumb terminals" that when connected to the server will look and act as good as the current PC but if you want to jump up and go from your bedroom to the family room your current session, running applications and all can go with you. If you want an phone # that you got beamed to you on your handheld on your cell phone you just sync them both.

This will take some time to occur as people are slooooow to think of changing things but it is the only way I can see to be effective at managing many little devices such as:

- 2-3 terminals
- 4-5 cell phones
- 2-3 handhelds
- a couple of TV's
- your stereo
- control of your lights and thermostat
- 3-4 game consoles
- your refrigerator
- other things not yet thought of
