Don't worry- the entire country will be paying for this mess eventually. Savings & Loan scams may have been centered on Texas, but everyone in the nation ended up monetizing the bad debt. Same thing.

Since private insurance carriers refuse to sell Hurricane insurance to the dumbasses who build their houses 10 feet away from the Gulf and Carolina/Georgia coastlines, the federal government steps in and sells them insurance at hugely subsidised rates. Guess what? Every year a hurricane hits somewhere and the US Taxpayer pays the cost for all those idiots to rebuild on the water's edge.

What a country!

It is ridiculous that consumers in Arizona, Oregon and Washington are now paying higher than Californians for energy because the consumer prices are capped in CA but not in some of these states. Where is the outrage ? I think people in these states don't have a big voice because of CA's population size...
