J_O - this is exactly the opposite of my experience running the RC1 version of XP. The tests the article refers to were run a long time ago (June 10th), under Beta 2... The author says it has "an increased appetite for CPU cycles" - yet I saw better performance than any previous MSFT OS on every machine I tried, from a 90 MHz pentium to a dual 1GHz PIII machine, even on Beta 2, and much stronger performance under RC1. Maybe the authors should try the released version and see what they think.
