Great article, Ray ! I think the some of these privatization guys have oligarch envy - they want to be like the Russian oligarchs. Haven't followed Ecuador in detail - they did have a really crazy President, then over a few years a series of natural disasters, including: Drought Earthquakes Volcanic Eruptions and more Earthquakes. They also managed to blow up their currency, and went part way to dollarization...then back, or something.
