Well, they are talking about two or three years now. The occupation of Japan lasted seven years, but Americans will be itching to be gone much sooner than that; probably by getting the Turks to substiute as peacekeepers, as they are doing in Afghanistan. There is no lust for colonial acquisitions in Washington because everybody knows it wouldn't work.

Are you sure they will kill Sadam?

I sure hope so. Most likely some general will try to buy good graces for himself by bringing Saddam's head on a platter. We certainly don't need another OBL-like disappearance.
